Granted it’s a low I.Q. AI, but functional none the less.  We were already getting a lot of crap phone calls on our land line, (yes we still have a land line, blame the wife), but it ramped up with the politics in the air.  Go figure two horrible misery causing viruses floating in the air at the same time.  I read, some time ago, about someone that used a Raspberry Pi, Asterisk PBX software and some IVR (Interactive Voice Response) programming to answer those crap calls for you.  I finally got around to putting it all together about a month ago.  That’s when I discovered Lenny!

We’ve had a few calls that have “spoken” to Lenny.  Keep in mind Lenny is just random audio files played in a way to make the caller think they are talking to a real person.

I personally have had conversations with A.I. on the telephone.  It’s getting really good and may even be able to pass the Turing test.  I’ll have to upgrade by hardware so I can fight back with my own adaptive IVR! 😀
