Internet Shows.

For the last few months I have been watching a very entertaining Internet show, it would otherwise be called a TV show but there’s no TV in this scenario. Just a camera, computers, a video streaming service. I learned about this show through Twitter (a social networking site where people follow each other and TWEET short messages.) I’ve been watching the FOX News show “Red Eye with Gregg Gutfeld” for about a year. One of the regular guests (in a panel of guests) is Alison Rosen. One night I was watching and when Ms. Rosen was on camera her Twitter url address was displayed. It’s pretty simple, http://twitter.com/AlisonRosen. So after the show I went to my Twitter account and started following her. I’d say with in a day or so she “tweeted” about her Internet Show. It is called Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend, or ARIYNBF for short. Which it isn’t but it is shorter.

I always enjoyed Alison, I call her by her first name now because we are BEST FRIENDS, on Red Eye, but since there are 2 or 3 guests, and a host and side kick each guest has a pretty limited amount of camera time. I really didn’t think much of this while watching Red Eye, until my first ARIYNBF show! On the first ARIYNBF show Alison had a guest that she was going to interview then he was going to cut her hair. Was he a hair stylist? No. He worked in the media field and the hair cut was a hook she was using to make the show more interesting.

Not only do you watch and hear the broadcast (like you would on a TV show) you also can “chat” with the hostess and guest(s). The chat is text which they read and respond to you on camera. The show was unbelievably entertaining. It lasted three (3!) hours! I had a blast and I was hooked. Each show you learn a little more about Alison. For example she’ll openly brag about how great she is then apologize for the next 3 minutes in some form or fashion for being great.

I’m like the guy in the movie theater that sits next to you and makes funny comments. You’d wish I’d shut up but you’re still laughing. This is what I do in the chat room on Alison’s show. The chat room and the reaction of the other people in the chat room is fun, as it is when at random times Alison or her guest will answer, comment, or laugh about something I have typed in chat.

You don’t have to register to watch the show. If you want to be able to chat in the chat room you’ll need to sign up with ustream.tv for an account. As a GUEST (non-registered user) you will be able to READ what is said in chat.
